In an interview with Spanish television network Univision, which was aired in the American morning show "Good Morning America" on Tuesday (US time), 22-year-old Ariadna revealed she was in "bad shape" and "cried a ton" after she was erroneously declared as Miss Universe by host Steve Harvey.
"I went to my parents' room and I was very sad. Obviously. I was in bad shape. I was crying. I cried a ton that night," she said in Spanish.
Ariadna added: "In four minutes, they destroy your dreams. And throw it in the bag and they throw it in the trash."
The Colombian beauty queen said she believes the mistake could have been handled "another way."

"I feel like it doesn't matter to them the feelings of a girl who worked hard her whole life for a dream," she said.
This isn't the first time Ariadna talked to Colombian media about the incident.
In an interview with Colombian showbiz magazine TVyNovelas, Ariadna said she feels no resentment for Pia amid the mix-up.
"We get along very well and we are searching for peace because it has generated a sort of conflict between the Latin community and them. She is Miss Universe," she told the magazine.

On her end, Pia said in an interview with "Good Morning America" on Monday (US time) that she greeted Ariadna during her birthday on December 25.
However, she nixed the idea of sharing the Miss Universe title with the Colombian, saying sharing the crown would be "difficult."
