May-December wedding set for... January?

Except to say that his and Pauleen Luna’s wedding will be held next year (presumably January, the earliest), all that Vic “Bossing” Sotto revealed in a one-on-one with The STAR is that it won’t be in the magnitude of, say, the Dingdong-Marian wedding on Dec. 30 last year. But it will be just as solemn.

“It’s going to be simple, hindi grandioso, not much fanfare. It will be simple, private, more of family and friends. I won’t call it exclusive, I’d call it private,” adding, “but we won’t keep it from the public. Hindi naman namin itatago. Abangan n’yo na lang ang detalye sa Eat, Bulaga!, lahat ng announcement at lahat ng pangyayari,” adding deadpan, “Matagal pa naman, eh. Next year pa!

The last time Vic got married was almost 30 years ago, to Dina Bonnevie with whom he has two children, Danica (married to Marc Pingris, with two children) and Oyo Boy (to Kristine Hermosa, also with two children). That marriage was annulled.

Asked how he would feel exchanging “I do’s” for the second time, after a long time, Vic joked, “This time, the ‘I do’ will be longer, ‘I dooooooooooo!’ Ganyan kahaba, hehehe!!!”

And to what song (their theme song?) will they be walking down the aisle (Pauleen will wear a gown by Francis Libiran)?

Dessert,” he said with a straight face, referring to the song played for Wally Bayola to dance to in the Bulaga Kalyeserye.

Incidentally, will Vic’s exes be invited to the wedding?

Vic was mum. But his children and grandchildren will be members of the entourage.

“I want them, along with my in-laws, to be with us during the important event,” assured Vic. “So far,” he said in jest, “two sets of in-laws pa lang naman.”

This will be Vic’s last Christmas as a bachelor. Next year, he and Pauleen will be spending their first Christmas together in the dream house they are building. Clue to the date of their wedding: By Valentine’s next year, they shall have moved to that house.

“Almost finished, medyo na-delay lang ng kaunti,” disclosed Vic. “Finishing touches na lang, which take a bit longer.”

As usual during this season when he has an official entry, My Bebe Love, in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), Vic said that Christmas will be the same more or less.

“We will be busy promoting the movie and, of course, we will all ride on our float during the Parade of Stars (on Dec. 24, the MMFF officially opens on Dec. 25).”

It’s his second team-up with Ai-Ai. After the first, Enteng Ng Ina Mo in 2011, a follow-up was derailed by Ai-Ai’s contract with Star Cinema that prevented her from doing projects for other companies.

Ai-Ai, now a certified Kapuso, is also a co-producer on My Bebe Love, along with Vic’s M-Zet Productions, APT Entertainment, OctoArts Films, GMA Films and Meda Productions (Ai-Ai’s). Written and directed by Jose Javier Reyes, the movie marks the big-screen debut of the AlDub tandem of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza.

Holding back tears, Ai-Ai said that she’s forever grateful to Vic for not abandoning her when she was down (although not really out).

My Bebe Love is predicted to top the 2015 MMFF. That must be what Vic and his co-stars are wishing.

Basta ang alam ko maraming nag-aabang,” said Vic. “Ang sambayanang Pilipino, ang AlDub Nation, at marami pang iba. Alden and Maine are different in this movie from who they are as Alden and Yaya Dub on the Kalyeserye.”

Any other wishes?

“More often than not, my wishes are not for myself,” admitted Vic. “Usually for my loved ones…my children and grandchildren, and my friends.”

Any special gift for Pauleen?

Turning into comic mode, Vic replied, “Myself. Ang katawan ko,” something that doesn’t need to be gift-wrapped, hehehe!!! “My gift for her is more than just material; it’s a gift of life, of love.”

By the way, how many children do Vic and Pauleen plan to have?

Kung ilan ang ibibigay ng Panginoon,” said Vic.

We ended the interview with a short game.

Lights on or lights off?

Vic: Lights on. Takot ako sa dilim, eh.

What part of his body is his favorite?

Vic: What did I tell you that last time you asked me that question? (Hmmm, something not below the navel.) Actually, my face.

What part of Pauleen’s body is his favorite?

Vic: All you have to do is look at Pauleen. Lahat!

The sweethearts left yesterday for Hong Kong, not for an advance honeymoon but for some legit business.

Heart Evangelista and husband Sen./Vice Presidentiable Chiz Escudero

Heart is now a Sorsoganon at heart

Heart Evangelista never fails to be impressed by the beauty of Sorsogon, home province of her husband, Sen./Vice Presidentiable Chiz Escudero. Every time she has a chance, Heart tags along with Chiz on his visits to Sorsogon, taking as many pictures as she can and posting them with the (hashtag) #mahalkongsorsogon.

Among her favorites is the Bulusan Lake. Because of her social-media postings, Heart has been attracting more people to visit the province.

Recently, a 400-square-meter surfer’s pavilion was opened in Barangay Buenavista in Gubat which is calculated to attract foreign and local surfers.

“I am now a full-pledged Sorsoganon,” said Heart.
