MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Culinary Cup 2015 drew to a successful close recently with the proclamation of winners and awarding of prizes.
Among the big winners was Felicia Ken Mardo, a culinary student of Southville International School affiliated with Foreign Universities (SISFU), who bagged a silver award for her entry in the Australian Lamb category.
Mardo led over 70 contestants representing a mix of chefs, both aspiring and professional, who participated in an intense and challenging culinary battle that required them to prepare and finish their entries within a certain time limit, for which they were judged based on the taste and creativity of their cuisine.
Mardo is shown (above, center) with two of the judges in the competition after receiving her award during the closing rites that highlighted the World Food Expo last Aug. 6 to 8 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
She is one of hundreds of students being developed and trained by SISFU by undergoing world-class academic experience and getting exposed to challenging activities like the Philippine Culinary Cup 2015 as the school prepares them for fulfilling employability and success in the future.
