As per her last wish, the remains of Liezl Martinez were cremated at noon yesterday after the necrological Mass at the Arlington Chapel on Araneta Avenue, Quezon City, where they were brought early morning from the Aeternum at The Heritage Park, Taguig City, where a two-night wake was held.
But her husband Albert Martinez and their children Alyanna, Alfonso and Alissa had to whisper “I’m sorry” to Liezl because they couldn’t follow her wish to the letter — you know, to have her cremated “at once” and to dispense with the public viewing.
You see, Liezl’s dad Bobby Vasquez was on a flight from California (where he is based) Saturday morning at the precise moment when Liezl was breathing her last, cuddled in the arms of Alfonso, and arrived late at night that same day when Liezl’s body was already lying in state.
According to a Funfare source, the children had to wait so their grandfather could see their mom’s body for the last time. That’s just what Bobby did — kept looking in tears at Liezl, so beautiful in eternal repose.
Before the cremation, the casket (closed most of the time during the second “public viewing” day) was opened for Liezl’s mom Amalia and the rest of the family to take a last look.
Albert poured his heart out in a message on his Instagram account:
She was my wife, my partner, my best friend. We grew up together. We raised a family together. She was a wonderful mother who devoted her entire life to our children. I have three wonderful kids because of her. She was a supportive wife who stood beside me in every endeavour, big or small. I am grateful to her. I owe everything to her. I have a successful career and happy life because of my wife Liezl.
First view of Pacquiao’s new house
Yes, it’s confirmed: Manny Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee did buy another house in Beverly Hills.
Here’s a pictorial report from Dr. Vicki Belo who, with forever-friend Hayden Kho, were among the first to visit the house:
1. With Manny and current owners of the house. Forgot wife’s name (an interior designer); guy is Roger T (a building contractor). Previous owner of the house was Jennifer Lopez.
2. Hayden in the masters bedroom with His and Hers bathrooms and walk-in closets.
3. The view of the pool from masters bedroom. Pool has a lot of fountains and in the evening there are nice lights like those at Bellagio Hotel.
4. I’m in the yellow room. Bagay for Manny and Jinkee’s girls Queenie (my inaanak) and Princess.
5. The boys’ blue room. There are seven rooms in the house, so each kid can have his own room, plus one guest room.
