MANILA, Philippines - When Ilocos Sur Rep. Ronald Singson (left) served time in a Hong Kong prison and faced a lifetime ban from entering the US after his 2011 conviction for drug possession, his greatest fear — aside from letting down his family and his constituents — was not being able to fulfill his daughter’s dream of seeing Disneyland in the US.
This prompted Ronald to follow the advice of his father, Chavit Singson, to consult with US immigration lawyer Michael Gurfinkel (right), whom Chavit said was “the only one who could help” his son.
Gurfinkel sought a special “waiver” for Ronald, which was a meticulous and tedious process and finally on Jan. 15, the congressman obtained his US visa.
