MANILA, Philippines - Christmas is just around the corner. It is that time of the year again when people exchange gifts, share happiness and blessings and spread the love more than anything else.
After a year’s worth of hard work, some of the Kapuso stars look back on the moments wherein they felt really fulfilled. They cherish these moments and make them a source of motivation for their future endeavours.
What is the most memorable thing that happened in your life this year?
Director Louie Ignacio: “This year, the production of my first Cinemalaya film, Asintado. Yun ‘yung Cinemalaya X na pumasok akong Top 5 sa Director’s Showcase, that’s very memorable because it’s my dream na at least mapasok ko yung indie. Also, the production of my second indie advocacy film, Child House, and of course, meeting with the Pope — ‘yung kanyang conclave at the Vatican.”
Director Mark Reyes: “Having to direct four shows for GMA all at the same time and managed to be the No. 1 daytime soap have certainly made my 2014 a memorable one.”
Alden Richards: “The projects I received from GMA because they’re really ground-breaking for me, (as they came) at an early stage in showbiz, for three years and a half. Yung Ilustrado, Bet ng Bayan and Carmela were my biggest breaks on GMA and I’m really happy that I was able to, kahit papano, give justice to the roles given to me and I’m really thankful.”
Donita Rose: “Definitely, Basta Everyday Happy is one of my happiest gifts and the people here. I really look forward to every single taping. On air, it is a good job, but off air, we’re having so much fun, it’s crazy.”
Andrea Torres: “This year, na-overwhelm talaga ako sa FHM, one of the biggest blessings in my life this year. It’s something I didn’t expect to happen in my career. Sobrang career ‘yung diet, gym and everything so it’s nice pala kapag mayroon kang ginagawa na natatakot kang gawin pero ang ganda ng resulta. Because of that, I realized that if you put hard work to every project that you do, and if you pray, the results will be good.”
Mikael Daez: “The most memorable thing was the birth of my baby brother, baby Alvaro, the ninth in the family.”
Rochelle Pangilinan: “My family and Art (Arthur Solinap) get along very well. Nagsimula naman ‘yun nung nagsimula ‘yung relasyon namin. Pero ngayon, mas intense at masaya.”
Enzo Pineda: “The most memorable thing that I’ll never forget is when I got into running marathons and doing aquathlons. It totally changed my lifestyle and mindset into something more positive.”
LJ Reyes: “I got a really pretty challenging project right on my birth month!”
Renz Fernandez: “The most memorable thing that happened in my life this year is when I was given the privilege to work here and meet various individuals who share the same passion for creating.”
Yasmien Kurdi: “When I had a surgery to remove a cyst in my throat, it was memorable kasi akala ko mawawalan na ko ng boses, akala ko hindi na ko makakabalik sa career ko. It was really a nightmare. Then I regained my voice and it was a big blessing. Talagang malalaman mo that God is always there for you.”
Kris Bernal: “Two most memorable things that happened in my life this 2014: My current primetime soap Hiram na Alaala and the friendship we have there. I also treasure my first trip to Japan with my family.”
Barbie Forteza: “I won the Cinemalaya Gawad Balanghay Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film Mariquina (New Breed Category). And of course, the indefinite extension of our ongoing Afternoon Prime series, The Half Sisters.”
Rocco Nacino: “Lovi’s (Lovi Poe) sweet ‘Yes.’”
Marc Justine Alvarez: “It was when I received the Best Breakthrough Performance By An Actor award at the Golden Screen Awards.”
Jeric Gonzales: “The most memorable thing that happened in my life this year was when I became part of an indie film. Pinaghirapan ko talaga at nag-audition ako for the role. I was very lucky because the lead star of the movie was the one and only superstar, Ms. Nora Aunor, and it was shot in Batanes.”
Thea Tolentino: “My debut because I spent the whole day with my family and friends.”
