The 22-year-old beauty queen bested 120 other contestants to become the successor to the Philippines’s Megan Young.

Miss United States’ Elizabeth Safrit placed third, while Miss Hungary’s Edina Kulcsar won second place.

The Philippines’ bet Valerie Weigmann made it to the pageant’s quarter finals, but failed to reach the top 10.

With this, Megan remains to be the Philippines’s only Miss World titleholder.

This year's contest was marred by the murder last month of Miss Honduras and her sister in that country.

The first Miss World contest was held 63 years ago in Britain. - with reports fro, the Associated Press
