2 young Pinays vie for the title 'supermodel'

MANILA, Philippines – A Fil-Aussie bar employee and a local Filipina model are among the contestants who will vie for supremacy to have a shot to be the next best model in Asia.

Jasmine Ng, 21 and Irish Go, 20, will represent the Philippines and will compete against 10 other hopefuls in the original Asian Supermodel series the “SupermodelMe: Sirens.”

Jasmine found her way to the competition via an Instagram post discovered by a talent scout.

Meanwhile, Go, the youngest contestant in the competition said that joining the reality contest was a breakthrough experience for her despite being in the fashion world for years as a model for various clothing lines.

The two Pinays along with Brazilian-Japanese twins Rafaella and Gabriela Leonardo graced the Philippine launching of the reality contest on Thursday at the CAV wine Shop and Cafe in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

SupermodelMe is back for its fifth season promising viewers the most daring, most explosive and most revealing season yet, highlighting six catfights and 21 crying scenes.

“The women featured in the series proved that real beauty lies beyond pretty face, boasting a wide range of accomplishments that encompass knowledge, strength and charisma,” said Christine Fellowes, Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, Universal Networks International.
