MANILA, Philippines - Erich Gonzales was encouraged by ABS-CBN executive Charo Santos-Concio to do the Filipino adaptation of the “Two Wives.”

“Siyempre no’ng una parang, ‘okay ba ‘to?’ and nagustuhan ko  naman po ‘yong material. Nang sinabi ni Ma’am Charo [Santos] na, ‘sige na, please do it,’ ako naman, sino ba naman ako para tumanggi sa boss 'di ba?” she recalls during the press conference of the upcoming ABS-CBN series “Two Wives” on Tuesday.

“Kasi honestly madalian lang po talaga ‘to. Kasi bago po ito simulan pupunta po ako  dapat ng Europe for my birthday celebration. Tapos parang sabi ko, ‘parang din a kaya.’ Sabi nila, ‘sige, we will wait for you,’ tapos pag-uwi ko okay na lahat. So siguro it’s meant to be.”

Erich will join the drama series' main cast --= Kaye Abad, Jason Abalos and Patrick Garcia. It will start airing on October 13, after another drama series “Ikaw Lamang.”

As wedding proposals is trend in showbiz this year, Erich was again asked by the media what would her answer be if her non-showbiz boyfriend proposes.

“Alam naman niya po na hindi pa ako ready,” she replied. “So andyan lang siya, willing po siya maghintay, suporta lang siya,” the young actress said.

She added that in case, her boyfriend grows tired of waiting for her to be ready, she won’t be a “martyr” and go after him.

“Nasa kanya ‘yon. Kung ang partner ko maging unfaithful, hindi naman ako magpapaka-martyr, di ba?” she said. “Kasi once na nagawa na niyang mambabae, uulit-ulitin na po niya ‘yon. So kapag gano’n wala na, goodbye na and alam niya po ‘yon.”
