MANILA, Philippines - Adopt-a-Bangka campaign ambassadress Marian Rivera made an announcement last Sunday before the scheduled auction of her pre-loved clothes that it would be her final fund-raising event for the Kapuso Adopt-a-Bangka Project. “Dito na po natatapos ang pag-tulong namin sa Bantayan Island. Naibigay na namin ang pangangailangan at pangkabuhayan nila, mission accomplished na po kami,” shared Marian.

Launched in January this year, Adopt-a-Bangka Project aims for the long-term, holistic rehabilitation of the fisherfolk communities at Bantayan Island in Northern Cebu. To help raise funds for the beneficiaries of the project, Marian with the GMA Regional TV and GMA TV Central and Eastern Visayas/Cebu Station auctioned her most memorable dresses last August and recently at the Lewis Grand Hotel in Clark, Pampanga.

Marian auctioned outfits she wore during the FHM Victory Party, TV commercials, awards nights, teleseryes, movies, among others. She was assisted by GMA Regional TV AVP for Integrated Marketing Services Oliver Amoroso, GMA Cebu station manager Ann Marie Tan and friend/event host Boobay. The sold-out benefit auction raised over P100,000.

The Primetime Queen also shared that she will be launching next month her latest campaign Yan ang Smile. It aims to provide free corrective cleft lip and palate surgery in partnership with Smile Train. “Bigyan natin ng magandang kinabukasan ang mga batang may diperensya sa pag-ngiti at sa pag-sasalita. Ibabalik natin ang kumpiyansa nila sa kanilang mga sarili — Yan ang Smile,” said Marian.

On the same day, Kapampangans saw the Primetime Queen at the SM Clark Pampanga where Marian held the Kapuso Fans Day. She extended her gratitude to her loyal fans for their unwavering love and support.
