MANILA, Philippines - MTV has unraveled the first five nominees for the Best Southeast Asia Act for the MTV European Music Awards (EMA), and our very own Sarah Geronimo seizes a spot on the nomination.
The popstar royalty is nominated along with other artists from Asia - NOAH (Indonesia), Yuna (Malaysia), Stefanie Sun (Singapore) and Slot Machine (Thailand).

But the contest is not over yet. To complete the final list of nominees, MTV is putting the EMA nomination in the hands of the fans via social media. For the first time ever, netizens will have the power to help select the “wild card” nominee for Best Southeast Asia Act.

The artist with the most hashtag mentions will become a sterling addition to the Best Southeast Asia Act category. The wild card Twitter vote is open until Monday, September 15. All 2014 MTV EMA nominees, including the wildcard contender will be announced on September 16. The race will officially start once the final nominee from wildcard contenders is chosen after September 16.
MTV EMA will be held in Scottish city of Glasgow on November 9 this year.
