Julia Barretto mum on change of surname

MANILA, Philippines- Julia Barretto declined to talk  about her change of surname.

Reports have said that the young actress has sought a legal action to change her surname to “Barretto” from “Baldivia” which is the real family name of her father Dennis Padilla.

“Magtse-change na po ako ng outfit!” Julia joked when asked about her change of surname, in an interview Wednesday.  She then politely asked the member of the press to allow her some privacy on the matter. “I hope you guys understand if I don't speak about that topic. Parang 'yon na lang ang privacy ko na natitira, 'yon na lang.”

But despite this, Julia said that “siyempre nami-miss ko ang dad ko.” But later clarified that they "talk."  "My dad and I are okay. May communication naman kami ng dad ko.”

Meanwhile, Julia is also happy with the outcome of her launching project “Mira Bella” together with Enrique Gil and Sam Concepcion.

The primetime show will air for eight more days, until July 4, before it goes off air.

“The story itself, to be able to play two roles in your launching project, that's already a big thing kasi it's very challenging and it's my very first soap di ba,” she explained. “It's satisfying kasi feeling ko natapos nang maayos, the ratings improved by the end, kumapit na rin ang tao sa story. So I'd say that kahit hindi siya tumagal ng one year, ng eight months, kahit ano, I learned a lot in this show.”

Looking back on her journey, Julia said that what she went through is not easy especially since  she faced criticisms and doubts about her talent as an actress. But she  said  that “everyone goes through that.”

Julia said she doesn't regret anything that happened in the past ,but learned from it to improve her craft.

“Why would I regret anything that brought me to where I am now?” she asked back. “So di ba, there's nothing that I should regret. It made me the person I am now, it brought me to where I am now. So dapat mas thankful ako sa mga experiences ko.”
