MANILA, Philippines - The theatrical show Stomp is coming to a close but not without a bang and more, as it has been doing the past five days in its matinee and gala shows at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Main Theater.
‘(It’s been) standing ovation every night!’ happily noted Bambi Rivera-Verzo, executive producer of Concertus Manila, the group that mounted the show with Lunchbox Theatrical Productions.
A unique and symphonic fusion of choreography, comedy and percussion music from unconventional instruments, Stomp — which first came to Manila in 2011 — originated in the UK in the ’90s and has since has stomped its way to Off Broadway, West End and over 50 countries. The cast of the touring production of Stomp in Manila features Angus Little, Adam Buckley, Phil Batchelor, Ian Vincent, Michael Landis, Serena Morgan, Reggie Talley, Simon Watts, Shae Carroll, Louise Durand, Emma King and Filipino-American Andres Fernandez.
Photos show the Stompers, as the members are called, having a blast at the rousing meet-and-greet during Tuesday’s successful opening tonight. You can still catch Stomp’s last two shows today at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. For details, call TicketWorld at 891-9999.
