Sexy Talk with a Senior Citizen

That’s how Mitch Valdes prefers to be addressed — yes, a Senior Citizen, because she’s in the vicinity of the 60s.

Although if you watch her “live” in a show, you will think that she’s half that age. Onstage, Mitch as expected can dance and sing — and how! — and can do a hundred other acts including poke fun at most everybody including herself.

No wonder her hit show Wow Pare!, first staged late last year, will have a repeat starting on Tuesday, March 25, at The Library Metrowalk, Ortigas Ave., Pasig City (with more shows on April 1; and May 6, 13 and 20, same venue).

Aside from being a nostalgic reminiscence of the era of The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Tower Of Power, Mike Hanopol, Pepe Smith and other bands, Wow Pare! also traces the ups and downs, the peaks and valleys, the tears of laughter that made Mitch into the well-rounded artist that she is — never been married, never had a child (by choice) but has had the pleasure of having loved and lost and, ask her, and she’ll tell you that she’s not afraid to fall in love again.

And, senior though she is now, Mitch can be sexy, too. Thus, she qualifies for this section’s “sexy talk” session.

What is sexy to you?

“Sexy is when you are truly enjoying a person’s character, talents, skills, abilities and personality.”

When do you feel sexy?

“When I’m doing something good to the max.”

Sexiest sound?

“Usually the sax or any instrument played well and with feeling.”

Sexiest song?

“Feel So Good by Chuck Mangione (trumpets).”

Sexiest book?

“The Bridges of Madison County. The lovemaking was emotional.”

Sexiest food?

“Very good red wine with bantot cheese.”

Sexiest car?

“I don’t find cars sexy but I’d get very turned on if I had a Range Rover, hehehehe!”

What part of your body do you find sexiest?

“My brain. At this point in my life, it can jump out of the box, roam around, look into the box and then decide what it likes.”

What part of a man’s body do you find sexiest?

“At my age, I find his mouth sexy and what comes out of it.”

Sexiest part of the house?

“My room is my cocoon.”

Sexiest time of day?

“Just before dusk. There’s something about the light.”

Sexiest billboard?

“I’m not into billboards but I will stare at David Beckham. Not only does he excel in his field, he’s also the only man I know who doesn’t look awkward in his underwear.”

Sexiest face (of a man)?

“Any face that is scrubbed and clean.”

Sexiest clothes?

“Something that don’t call attention to the body but you know a good body is there.”

Sexiest perfume?

“The scent of soap on skin.”

Sexiest TV show?

“Downton Abbey. So very proper outside, boiling inside.”

Sexiest scene she has seen in a movie?

“I’m too clinical when watching movie love scenes because I am an actor, so I put myself in the shoes of the one I’m watching and I’m thinking, ‘Where’s the camera?’ Aray ko, that must be uncomfortable to block. I hope air-con was cold, how many of the crew were standing around? If you make me forget all that — then success.”

Sexiest scene she has ever done?

“I suppose Oro Plata Mata. It’s the only one I did, hahahahaha!”

Sexiest fantasy?

“Having an apartment in Manhattan while starring on Broadway. Aaahh!!!”

Three men that you find sexy?

“1. Jimmy Fallon who replaced Jay Leno. I didn’t pay attention to him before but he can do stand-up comedy, rap with a rapper guest, dance with Justin Timberlake, play crazy musical instruments, burst into song and he looks good. He also seems to have a good heart. At this point in my life, a good heart is so sexy.

“2. I find Obama sexy. How he handles his wife and his children while struggling with his presidency. When he falls flat on his face, I watch him get up again. His circumstances would have destroyed a better man. Right or wrong. Agree or disagree with his policies, he has grace while in the eye of whatever storm he’s in.

“3. I wish I could give Pope Francis a big hug and theoretically say, ‘You go, man!  Your Holiness!? Basta! You go!’”
