China on Four Wheels on Solar News

MANILA, Philippines - Journalists Justin Rowlatt and Anita Rani take different routes to go around China to see how complex the country is on Solar News’ China on Four Wheels airing on Jan. 30 and 31 at 8 p.m.

They take a journey through congested cities and rocky mountains; they embark on an epic road trip to explore how China’s rapid economic growth was influenced by booming car industry.

Anita then travels to rich industrialized cities of China where billionaires have super cars, increase in plants manufacturing and luxury tourism.

Meanwhile, Justin’s route takes him inland to a more rural China, where millions still lived in caves and their main mode of transportation is through their animals. He then explored the desert of Mongolia and the rice paddies of Southern China. He also saw the development of the coal industry firsthand, explored a billion dollar ghost city and discovered the hidden world of Miao ethnic minority.

After going through main roads and roads less traveled in China, Justin and Anita met back in Shanghai and reflected on the contrast of China’s richest and poorest. With industries booming, can the country sustain its economic growth? And what’s the impact to its people and the rest of the world?
