Jennylyn: ‘Too soon to fall in love again after breakup with Luis’

MANILA, Philippines – Jennylyn Mercado does not want to comment on Angel Locsin’s admission of love for ex-boyfriend Luis Manzano.

Last week, the Kapamilya actress revealed she is still in love with Luis during a bloggers’ conference for her upcoming show “The Legal Wife.” Meanwhile, the TV host-actor said he is open to “patching things up” with Angel.

Jennylyn and Luis broke up October of last year, around the same time Angel announced her split with football player Phil Younghusband.  

“For now, I don't want to talk about it. And kung meron man issue about them, siguro sila na lang tanungin ninyo. Kasi ako, wala na ako sa posisyon para magsalita,” the Kapuso actress told members of the press during the launch of her GMA-7 show “Rhodora X” on Monday, January 20.

Asked if she’s still hurt following the breakup, Jennylyn said: “Hindi ko pa alam, hindi ko alam kung anong isasagot ko.”

“Sa ngayon, ayoko muna ng complications. Wala itong kinalaman tungkol sa akin. Ako, out na ako diyan. Kung may gusto kayong itanong, sa kanila na lang ninyo itanong at 'wag sa akin,” the 26-year-old actress further explained.

Too soon

But Jennylyn said that when it comes to her love life, she’s “not entertaining anybody.”

In fact, the Kapuso actress feels she’s not yet ready to fall in love again just months after her split with Luis.

“It's too soon. Hindi pa talaga,” Jennylyn said “ Parang I just came from a breakup. It’s too soon. Hindi pa kaya at wala akong plano kahit ano kasi unahin ko muna yung trabaho ko, yung pamilya ko at yung sarili ko. Yung ang priority ko sa ngayon.”

The “Rhodora X” star shared she’s not the type of person who easily falls out of love.

“Pag na-in love ako, ibibigay ko lahat. Pag nag mahal ako, mamahalin ko talaga ng sobra. I think yung pagkawala ng nararamdaman, para sa akin hindi ko yun ginagawa dahil grabe ako magmahal, e,” she explained.

When asked if feels Angel and Luis’ current reconnection proves she didn’t initiate the breakup with the “Win It To Minute” host, Jennylyn said: “Alam na yun ng mga tao, matatalino na ngayon ang mga tao. I don't think kailangan ko pang magpaliwanag kung anong nangyari or sinong may kasalanan.”

“Hindi importante kung sino ang may kasalanan. Ang importante sa akin, kailangan mag-move on, kailangan maging masaya, at kailangan alagaan ko ang pamilya ko, ang sarili ko and my career.”

“Rhodora X,” which also stars Mark Herras and Yasmien Kurdi, premieres January 27, Monday on GMA-7.
