MANILA, Philippines - As the NBA regular season enters this month, the action intensifies in the Eastern and Western Conferences, where the contenders continue their battle for the top seeds while the lower-ranked squads jockey for a better record.
The action begins on Jan. 9, when the Atlanta Hawks take on the Indiana Pacers live at 8:30 a.m. Since Al Horford tore his pectoral muscle and was ruled out for the season, do-it-all forward Paul Milsap has been spectacular in his absence by averaging monster statistics. However, he’s about to face the long and rugged frontcourt duo of Indiana, Roy Hibbert and David West.
Following the first contest, LaMarcus Aldridge and company will get their first look at NBA Rookie of the Year candidate Victor Oladipo when the Orlando Magic takes on the Portland Trail Blazers live at 11:30 a.m.
The following day, Jan. 10, two adversaries will add another chapter to their already distinguished rivalry when the Miami Heat visits Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Knicks live at 9 a.m.
Following the battle out East, the scene will shift to Mile High City, where the Denver Nuggets will host the Oklahoma City Thunder live at 11:30 a.m. Can Kevin Durant lead the charge and deliver his team another W, or will head coach Brian Shaw’s boys prevail?
