MANILA, Philippines – Gloc 9 is grateful for everyone who supported his music, especially his song “Sirena” featuring Ebe Dancel.

The rapper won three awards at the recently concluded 26th Awit Awards: Best Album of the year for his album “MKNM,” Song of the Year for “Sirena” and Music Video of the Year.

“Very thankful ako siyempre sa Awit [Awards] for recognizing my work,” he said in an interview Wednesday afternoon, December 11.

If there’s a group of people that the rapper would like to thank the most, that would be the LGBT community, to whom he dedicated “Sirena.”

But Gloc 9 wouldn’t like these awards to affect his future works because it may not sound and mean the same way as it does when he was still starting his career.

“Pag may mga ganito po, may time ako to enjoy and then namnamin yan,” he relates. “Pero after a while po kailangan kong i-reset ulit ang sarili ko, bumalik sa kung sino ako kung saan ako nagsimula para mas maging totoo ang isusulat ko afterwards.

“Kasi kung itatambak ko nang itatambak sa balikat ko yan and then magsusulat ulit ako ng kanta, medyo mahirap.”
