MANILA, Philippines - Jay Park is a Korean heartthrob for many reasons. A multi-talented superstar, he is a singer, dancer, rapper, model, actor, songwriter and even a music producer. In the business of entertaining, it seems that there is nothing Jay can’t do.
A “born entertainer,†as described by the Korean pop legend Patti Kim, Jay has been capturing the hearts of K-Pop fans all over the world since 2008. His rise to fame began when he led one of South Korea’s most popular boy bands, 2PM.
But just as Jay made his way to stardom, his budding career had to be put on hold due to a controversy surrounding a leaked post from his MySpace account. He was soon forced to leave Korea.
The Korean-American artist made his career comeback in 2010 through his YouTube video covering Bruno Mars then hit song, Nothing on You. The video was an instant hit and went viral garnering over two million views in just a day.
Since then, we’ve seen Jay conquer the Korean music industry as his songs Take a Deeper Look and New Breed yielded multi-platinum sales and various singles topped the charts. Eventually, he started his own independent label — AOMG, a spin-off from his old B-boy crew name Art of Movement (AOM). Recently, Jay was crowned Musician of the Year at the 2013 Korean Music Awards.
Jay has both the talent and the looks to make the girls fawn. From a charming young boy singing R&B hits, he has turned into a hot bad boy with his breathtaking dance moves and hip-hop songs. It comes as no surprise that he has been crowned The Fresh Prince of Seoul.
