GMA Regional holds trade events in Mindanao

Marian Rivera & Alden Richards

MANILA, Philippines - GMA Network, through its regional arm, GMA Regional TV, held back-to-back thanksgiving parties in Davao and Cagayan de Oro on Nov. 7 and 8, respectively, to recognize its valued and loyal partners in the trade who have helped them reach another milestone this year.

Both occasions were memorable celebrations of good food, great entertainment and lots of surprises. Aside from a sumptuous and delectable fiesta-themed buffet, guests were also treated to raffle draws of exciting prizes.

And as its way of giving back to its valued partners, GMA Regional TV also staged mini-concerts featuring some of the biggest and brightest Kapuso stars.

In Davao, merriment was courtesy of Marian Rivera together with Alden Richards, her leading man in the upcoming primetime soap Carmela. They were joined by Sunday All Stars mainstay Maricris Garcia and Vampire Ang Daddy Ko cast member Glaiza de Castro. The program was hosted by comedians Pekto and Boobay. Meanwhile in CDO, Pekto once again hosted the event with entertainment provided by Alden and Maricris.

Overwhelmed by the Mindanaoans’ warm reception last September during the Tuna Festival celebration, Marian personally chose to visit the region again to give back to her supporters. “When I learned about this trip in Mindanao, sinabi ko talaga sa sarili ko na sasama ako. Pagkatapos dumugin ng mga tao ‘yung huli naming Fans’ Day ni Dingdong sa GenSan, I made a promise to myself that I will come back here para makapagpasalamat akong muli sa mga Kapusong Mindanaoans,” she said.

Some of the men and women behind the success of GMA News and Public Affairs Southern and Northern Mindanao were also present to introduce the anchors, hosts and producers of their local programs namely Testigo, Una Ka Bai, Isyu Mindanao and Testigo Northern Mindanao.

The News and Public Affairs team promises an exciting 2014 for the Mindanaoans.

Also in attendance during the trade events was senior program manager for RTV-ETV Jocelyn Bautista-Pacleb, who shared how Regional Entertainment TV has grown by “leaps and bounds” since 2005. She shared how proud she is to become part of a team that launched Let’s Fiesta — the first and only travel show on Philippine free TV that is focused on bringing viewers to the grandest festivals all over the Philippines.

GMA Regional’s AVP for integrated marketing services Oliver Amoroso recalled how the network has established itself as the key partner in promoting the best in the Filipino. He mentioned that through its local programs, GMA Regional TV consistently provides the regional partners the much-needed airtime for Filipinos in other parts of the country and the world to see.
