Cristine 'no regrets' on short-lived relationship with Derek

MANILA, Philippines – “Masaya ako dahil back to normal kami.”

This was how Cristine Reyes described the current state of her friendship with ex-boyfriend Derek Ramsay during the press conference of her upcoming movie “When The Love Is Gone” on Wednesday, November 6.

Facing the entertainment press for the first time since her breakup with the Kapatid actor last month, Cristine said she and Derek have remained friends despite their split.

It can be remembered that the two broke up last month, after being in a relationship for a month.

“Kasi, ganun naman talaga kami ni Derek. Ever since na magkatrabaho kami sa ‘No Other Woman,’ naging magkaibigan kami. So wala namang nagbago,” the 24-year-old actress said.

Cristine added: â€œWala akong regrets. Wala naman, kasi at least, di ba, (we tried).”

She also echoed Derek’s earlier statements that Cristine will be his “friend for life.”

“Hindi kami manghihinayang kasi forever kaming magkaibigan,” she said.

Reconcile?

Asked what caused the breakup, the Kapamilya actress explained they still have personal “unfinished business” to take care of. However, she stressed that there was no “major reason” for the split.

“Walang third party. Walang hulilhan. Kung ano man yung nasusulat ng ibang mga tao, walang ganung eksena. Kasi kung may ganung eksena, magiging magkaibigan ba kami?” she explained.

Cristine also cleared actress Ynna Asistio from the issue, saying she has nothing to do with the breakup.

Since they remain friends, is there a chance for the former to couple to reconcile in the future?

“As of now? Siguro, ayoko magsalita ng tapos. Ayoko sabihin na wala na talaga, ayoko sabihin na meron,” Cristine now.

But right now, the “When The Love Is Gone” actress wants to focus on her career.

“Dati gusto ko may boyfriend, pero ngayon gusto ko single. Kasi nagagawa ko lahat ng gusto ko. Walang iniintindi, sarili mo lang at mga priorities mo sa buhay,” Cristine said.

“When The Love Is Gone,” which also stars Gabby Concepcion and Alice Dixson, among others, premieres November 27.
