MANILA, Philippines – The news about the recent string of celebrity breakups has made Bea Alonzo appreciate more what he has right now with boyfriend Zanjoe Marudo.

“Kapag nakakarinig ako ng ganyang news, parang mas lalo ko siyang minamahal. Mas lalo akong nagiging appreciative sa kung ano ang meron ako,” the Kapamilya actress said in an interview during Olay and Watson’s’ “Spotless: A Pitch Black Event” at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City on Wednesday, October 23.

She added: “At this point of my life, ngayon lang ako walang mahiling pa. Sa lahat ng bahagi ng buhay ko—career, family, love—I feel so blessed.”

“So, sana nga, he’s the one. Sana he’s the one.”

The topic of celebrity breakups was brought up when the press asked Bea what makes her relationship with Zanjoe “spotless.”

Earlier this month, Derek Ramsay and Cristine Reyes ended their month-long relationship. Luis Manzano and Jennylyn Mercado split last week. Early this week, reports circulated that Angel Locsin and Phil Younghusband called it quits as well.

Bea admits she hardly saw Zanjoe for two months while she was shooting for the movie “She’s the One,” but the 25-year-old believes their time away from each other actually helped strengthen their relationship.

“Ngayon, mas sweet kami sa isa’t isa. Siya, feeling ko extra sweet siya sa akin kasi na-miss niya ako,” she said. “Nakatulong siya sa relasyon namin na hindi naming sinasadya because I had to work and siya rin, busy din siya.”

Perfect husband

It also helped, Bea added, that they’re both secure with their relationship.

“He trusts me enough na hindi ko siya lolokohin and ako rin ganun sa kanya. Siguro kasi, hindi kami nagsasawang i-reassure every single day,” she shared.

In a previous interview, Zanjoe admitted he’s ready to be a father, although Bea isn’t ready yet.

The Kapamilya actress said that she, indeed, is not ready yet, although she’s happy Zanjoe is very vocal about the matter.

“Natutuwa ako kapag nababanggit niya. Ibig sabihin, seryoso siya sa akin. And kinikilig ako kapag sinasabi niya na magiging mabuting ina ako sa magiging anak ko,” she said.

But Bea added, “Pero alam ninyo, matagal pa—six, seven years.”

The “She’s the One” actress believes Zanjoe would make a “perfect husband.”

“Hindi man siya yung ma-grand gesture. Sweet siya in his own way pero hindi siya yung, ‘I’ll show you the world.’ But at least he’s real,” she said.

Bea graced the “Spotless: A Pitch Black Event” to promote the whitening product Olay White Radiance CelLucent White Essence.

“Artista or not, kailangan pinapangalagaan mo yung skin mo kasi it gives you more confidence to face others and to face all the challenges,” she said. “Feeling ko, if you’re confident and spotless, mas fearless ka.”
