MANILA, Philippines - Ogie Alcasid proved that he is still on top of his game as he successfully filled up the Mall of Asia Arena with screaming fans as he celebrated his 25 years in the entertainment industry.
The concert, dubbed Ogie Alcasid…I Write the Songs, was filled with nostalgia, love and laughter as Ogie’s songs and other OPM selections were performed by some of the biggest names in the television and music scene.
Ogie performed ’Wag Ka Lang Mawawala, Nandito Ako, Kung Mawawala Ka with wife Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Kuh Ledesma and Gary Valenciano; Sirena with Gloc9 and Ebe Dancel; Hanggang Ngayon and Pangarap Ko ang Ibigin Ka with Kyla, La Diva and Julie Anne San Jose; Mahal Kita Walang Iba with Noel Cabangon; Hindi Magbabago with Randy Santiago; Pangako with former loveteam Manilyn Reynes; and Ikaw Lamang with parents Herminio and Herminia Alcasid.
Anne Curtis made the night more fun by performing Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw with Ogie. The latter then did a remix version of Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat with Daniel Padilla. Other performers were Dingdong Avanzado, Janno Gibbs, Jaya, Manilyn Reynes, Rachel Alejandro, Rico J. Puno, Ryan Cayabyab, Archie Castillo, Jamie Rivera, Solenn Heussaff, Lovi Poe, Down To Mars, Pops Fernandez, Abra, Maneouvres, Tom Rodriguez and Dennis Trillo.
Aside from the new Kapatid’s special guests, also present were TV5 big boss Manny V. Pangilinan and Wilma Galvante, Vicki Belo, Mikee Cojuangco, Ronnie Ricketts, Marjorie Barretto, Annabelle Rama, Dennis Padilla, Karla Estrada, Gian Magdangal, Franco Laurel and Jessa Zaragoza.
I Write the Songs was produced by Star Media Entertainment, directed by Rowell Santiago with musical director Marc Lopez.
