MANILA, Philippines - Medtalk joins in the celebration of July as Nutrition Month with an informative discussion on health and nutrition. What comprises a good, nutritious meal?
Malnutrition is generally associated with frail, skinny and hunger-stricken bodies. But did you know that a person may appear outwardly normal and fit but can be malnourished? The Food and Nutrition Research Institute’s (FNRI) latest study revealed that almost one in every three Filipino children aged six to 10 is underweight and “underheight†or stunted for their age.
Medtalk, hosted by Angel Jacob, airs Tuesday nights at 10.
Hugh Jackman, Daniel Day-Lewis and Daniel Craig will grace 60 Minutes.
Scott Pelley profiles Jackman, the Australian actor known for his X-Men role as Wolverine and as Jean Valjean in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Les Miserables.
60 Minutes also explores the character of Lincoln, the president and the man, as seen through the eyes of the team that made the 12-time Oscar nominated film Lincoln: Director Steven Spielberg, Best Actor winner Day-Lewis and historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, on whose book the movie was based. Lesley Stahl reports.
Maybe one of the neatest tricks Agent 007 has been able to perform is keeping the James Bond film franchise alive and well for 50 years. Anderson Cooper talks to current James Bond actor Craig and to Barbara Broccoli, whose family has produced the films since 1962.
60 Minutes airs Wednesday nights at 10.
This month, Solar News Channel takes viewers around the country to discover what it really is to be Filipino with its new travel show What I See.
Hosted by travel photographer Paco Guerrero, What I See is not your usual travel program. In fact, Paco describes it as “a hybrid between a travel show and a documentary show, and just to make things more confusing, photography is also thrown in there.â€
It’s a program that shows that there is another way to travel — a more socially responsible and more socially curious way. Prepare yourselves for a visual delight with a heart because Paco is on a mission to find out “What makes us Filipino?â€
By going to provinces like Capiz, Bukidnon and Masbate, What I See is taking the road less traveled on the Solar News Channel. With more daring travel choices, get ready for more exciting episodes — from falling off a raft, experiencing the Filipino rodeo and immersing in Filipino traditions.
Drawn into travel photography at a young age, Paco says that photography is his way of exploring a new place. He moved around the world with his family when he was young and taking photos of the streets of different countries jumpstarted his love affair with photography.
He recounts, “It’s that magic, when we’re out filming the show, I always remember what it felt like to be (young), wandering the streets of Singapore, Bangkok…it’s that sense of curiosity, I think, that keeps you going.â€
