Scary stories from the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines - Following the success of the first season’s run, BIO’s My Ghost Story Asia Season 2 premieres this month. Featuring true accounts of brushes with the supernatural as told by the people who experienced them, the hit series presents a new line-up of real-life scary stories from chance encounters in haunted spaces to deep personal experiences — with some individuals even capturing their spine-tingling run-ins with the spiritual realm in photographs and on film.

Tune in Thursday nights at 9:30 to catch each of the eight episodic documentaries showcasing first person narratives both by everyday people and celebrities with different backgrounds and beliefs from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.

Tomorrow night in The Resident Ghosts, the Orendain family members confirms their suspicions that they are not alone in their house, built on a piece of land known as “the killing fields” where criminals dumped dead bodies in the ’80s. A psychic’s visit identifies the resident ghosts, two spirits — a child and a lady roaming around the house.

In Mass Possession, also airing on April 18, dance group Sex Bomb experiences spirit possession as member Mia unintentionally brings along two spirits after a ghostly encounter during a previous performance. The spirits manifest themselves through a lengthy and exhausting possession, jumping from one Sex Bomb member to another — all captured on tape.

Finally on April 25, get a thrill as Emzi Tinasas dares herself to perform the “Bloody Mary” ritual at midnight in front of a mirror, and starts to experience terrifying encounters. As their house is located between two cemeteries, Emzi’s mother Emerlina believes that The Visits are by lingering spirits who simply needed help to move on. The mother and daughter ultimately drive them away through prayer.
