Julia celebrates debut amidst fairies and magic

MANILA, Philippines - “On their midsummer’s night, the fairies dance and Puck doth play...”

That was the beautiful line that graced the invitation of  former child sweetheart and newly-turned lady, Julia Montes (photo). Julia celebrated her much-talked about debut last March 19.

Sure enough, the highly-anticipated 18th celebration of the television sweetheart definitely delivered in all its grandiosity. Julia claimed that she did not ask much about the details of her debut since she preferred to be surprised during the event itself. The party was inspired by the magical theme of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and was perfectly held at Fernwood Gardens, Quezon City. Gentlemen in their sharp tuxedos and lady guests floating in their pastel colored dresses looked like members of a fairy court.

Julia definitely did not disappoint with her moving and magical entrance come evening. She looked every bit the enchanting princess as she descended on a moving swing amidst a chorus of violinists and flutists while singing The Climb by Miley Cyrus.

Of course, some of the highlights of the night were the dresses the debutante wore. Julia breezed gracefully through the party wearing a beige masterpiece by Pepsi Herrera with a sweetheart neckline and a poufy skirt. The ensemble was complemented well by a pair of dangling earrings and bracelet from Miladay Jewels. The earrings with 70 rose cut diamonds and 8.78 carat bracelet definitely made the young woman shine brighter that night. For the after party, Julia slipped onto a red dress also by Herrera.

The party was hosted by Robi Domingo and Matteo Guidicelli and showcased performances from artists like Christian Bautista, Nyoy Volante and Daddy’s Home. Julia’s date for the night was Coco Martin, her onscreen partner in Walang Hanggan. ABS-CBN Business Unit head, Deo Endrinal, on the other hand, was her last dance in the 18 roses. Some of the other guests were Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo, Paolo Avelino and Richard Gomez.

The festivities did not die down until the wee hours of the morning. It was just like a real fairy party held at a glen of flowers and magic. The closing of that enchanting night proved to be something significant to more than just Julia though. In the end, it served as proof that even as we grow old, magic and wonder do not entirely leave us.
