Saklolo rescues househelp

MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN reporters Maan Macapagal and Dominic Almelor help out a maid whose head was severely injured after being hit on the head with a pan by her employer tomorrow, Jan. 30 in Pinoy True Stories: Saklolo.

“Lorie” had repeatedly been assaulted by her boss  every time she made a single mistake and could not talk with and seek help from her family because her boss confiscated her phone. All of this changed one day when she accompanied her boss to their merchandise stall at ABS-CBN, where Lorie befriended fellow vendors who convinced her to get away.

This month, Lorie finally resolved to escape and with the help of her friend vendors, sought help from ABS-CBN’s Umagang Kay Ganda, whose staff referred Lorie to Saklolo. With support from the two programs and ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya, Lorie received medical treatment and filed a case against her employer.

Meanwhile, Karen Davila (photo) dissects the feud between two neighbors over dog bite treatment today in Pinoy True Stories: Engkwentro. Emy’s pet dog had supposedly attacked and bit Wilfredo’s eight-year old son. Their feud began when Emy refused to pay for the kid’s subsequent anti-rabies shots after paying for the first one.

What is Emy’s responsibility to the kid who was bitten by her pet? If you were the parent of the kid, what should you do so you can save your child from danger?

Pinoy True Stories airs weekdays at 4:45.
