MANILA, Philippines - Clients of Little Asia in Venice Piazza McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio (telephone 798-0354), were treated to an unexpected ‘bonus’ a few nights ago when Jose Mari Chan (rightmost, with LA owner-manager Charlemagne Lim) sang Christmas songs for them.
‘Joe was with his wife Maryann and their children Liza, Michael, Joe and Franco,’ said Charlemagne who recalled having guested together with Joe Mari on Jojo Alejar’s Medyo Late Night Show on TV5.
After the impromptu mini-‘concert,’ Charlemagne served the Chans three of LA’s best-selling dishes, (top to bottom): Sichuan Chicken (Diced crispy chicken tossed in LA’s salt-and-pepper spice mix with Thai chili), Coconut Fish Fillet (Quick-fried fish fillets in coconut cream sauce with mixed spices) and Lengua in Mushroom White Sauce (Braised ox tongue with cream sauce and sautéed mushrooms).
