MANILA, Philippines - From Internet sensation to phenomenal concert performers, the young Croatian cellists Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser — otherwise known as 2Cellos — achieved worldwide success after going viral on YouTube last year with their unique double cello version of Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal.
It then continued when they were invited to appear as special musical guests on the monster hit TV series Glee. It was actually the first time that Glee featured an instrumental group as a guest artist. The new arrangement of the song debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Digital Songs Chart while landing 2Cellos in the Top 200.
It was also last year when they received a call from the British legend Elton John who invited the duo to join his European tour. And now, they will be performing live in Manila tomorrow, Dec. 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
2Cellos will open for Elton’s concert and will be performing with the band, too. “It’s been an absolute rollercoaster ride over the last year and a half since we embarked on this journey…and it’s been great!†says Sulic. So come see them live for one spectacular evening of music and prepare to be blown away by unique, passionate cello playing.
Check out their debut album 2Cellos, a thrilling collection of chart-topping rock and pop songs, from Guns N’ Roses, U2, Coldplay to Kings of Leon, performed in their signature style.
