MANILA, Philippines - A contemporary twist is given to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s renowned fictional detective in Elementary. Starring Jonny Lee Miller as detective Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson, the modern-day drama follows the crime-solving duo as they crack the most challenging cases of the New York Police Department (NYPD). Watch how the unconventional detective armed with his astute logic solves the tough cases in Elementary, shown on Jack City on Mondays beginning this month.
Following his fall from grace and subsequent stint in rehab, eccentric detective Sherlock is forced by his wealthy father to live with his worst nightmare—a sober companion in the person of Dr. Watson. Sherlock proves to be quite a challenge for Watson, as he isn’t like any of the patients she has encountered before. None of her clinical methods seem to work with him, and she must think of other creative ways to treat Sherlock’s addiction. However, Sherlock has his own idea of his post-rehab treatment — solving mind-boggling crimes.
After Sherlock decides to return to his role as a consultant in NYPD, Dr. Watson has no choice but to chaperone him in his investigations, which greatly annoys Sherlock. That is, until he finds that Dr. Watson’s medical background proves to be very helpful to him and his methods and that she actually has a knack for solving crimes.
Capt. Tobias “Toby” Gregson (Aidan Quinn), Sherlock’s police contact, gladly welcomes him back as part of the team, knowing full well from previous experience that Sherlock is brilliant at closing cases. Initially skeptical of Sherlock’s and his unorthodox methods, the entire police team soon realizes that he is an invaluable asset to their investigations.
With Sherlock running free in the streets of New York City, the bad guys are sure to go down for their crimes, but someone still needs to keep him grounded. That this is a job for Dr. Watson is, might we say, elementary.
