MANILA, Philippines - Through K-Pop Star Hunt S2, talents across Asia will have the incredible opportunity to get behind the screen and make K-Pop miracles of their own. This year, K-Pop Star Hunt proudly announces Malaysia and Japan as the sixth and seventh auditioning countries along with Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.
Last year, 1,500 Philippine entries were submitted to the first K-Pop Star Hunt. From there, 100 were shortlisted for the local actual auditions, but only three stood out: Rince Cajucom and twins Charlene and Charmaine Albino.
This year, the Filipinos have done it again, proving to the judges that Filipinos are world-class performers. Recently, at the Glorietta Activity Center, 16 hopefuls showed off their talents for that chance to go to Seoul, South Korea and train to become the next K-Pop Superstar. The judges once again mentioned that the Philippines is a country full of talent and savvy, making it one of the hardest countries to judge.
Two were finally chosen: Sheila Eunice Ona and Liahona Flores.
The winners will represent the Philippines in the second season of the hit tvN show, K-Pop Star Hunt, where they will be groomed, trained and put through challenges that will hone their talents and prepare them for whatever stardom brings next. They will be part of a total of 14 contenders coming from all over Asia to train at the renowned Korean Artist Management company, CUBE Entertainment. Reps from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan and Vietnam will be competing for a chance to produce their own album and perform at MAMA 2013.
For winners Ona and Flores, the journey to K-Pop superstardom has only just begun. The two will continue their adventure to becoming the next K-Pop Superstars when they meet up with the other winners from other countries.
