Balls airs the 2012 Ryder Cup

MANILA, Philippines - The Ryder Cup, one of the most thrilling and most-watched events in the world of sports, is a once-in-every-two-years showdown between golf’s two biggest powerhouses in the United States and Europe. It will air live on Balls from Sept. 28 to 30 at the Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois, United States.

The Ryder Cup is a match play event between golfers selected from Team Europe and Team USA, with each match worth one point. On the first two days, there will be four foursome matches and four four-ball matches each and on the last day there will be 12 single matches. To win the cup, 14½ points must be gained by USA out of the 28 points available while the titleholder, Europe must gain 14 points to retain its title.

Europe, the defending Cup champion defeated USA by 14 ½ points to 13 ½ points in the 2010 competition in Celtic Manor Resort in Wales.

The event airs live on Balls Channel (Sky Cable Ch. 34) on Sept. 28 at 8 p.m.; Sept. 29, 8 p.m.; and Sept. 30, 11:30 p.m.
