MANILA, Philippines - Due to the overwhelming response from millions of fans, the upcoming Manila concert of Lady Gaga (photo) on May 21 at the new SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City has been extended with the addition of a second and final show set for May 22, it was announced by Ovation Productions.
In a statement released yesterday, the local promoter of The Born This Way Ball tour produced internationally by Live Nation, confirmed that a second performance on May 22 has been added to the original one-night gig in order to accommodate the huge demand from concert-goers.
Tickets for the May 22 show will go on sale starting today at 12 noon at all SM Tickets outlets nationwide.
The awesome response from fans reflects similar reactions from audiences in other cities elsewhere since the brand-new tour of the five-time Grammy Award winner kicked off on April 27 in Seoul Korea. Succeeding shows in Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan have also been sold out, while the concert in Manila has been extended.
The 13-city, 33-date concert series will also cover Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia in Asia and New Zealand and Australia before touring 21 cities in Europe.
Expected to be this summer’s biggest entertainment event featuring a foreign act, The Born This Way Ball tour presents one of the world’s hottest female pop stars as she performs in her unique and distinctive singing and theatrical act songs from her latest album, Born This Way, as well as selections from her first two hit albums, The Fame and The Fame Monster.
The Born This Way Ball immediately follows Lady Gaga’s last tour, The Monster Ball, which captivated hundreds of millions of fans worldwide and was critically acclaimed with rave reviews in the cities where it was held.
She is expected to do 110 shows this year in support of the Born This Way album, which has sold nearly six million copies throughout the world since it was released in May 2011.
