MANILA, Philippines - Side A and The CompanY will be performing together in a once in a lifetime concert on Sept. 16, 8 p.m. at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila (RWM). Billed as In The Company of Side A, the show is another landmark production from Viva Concert & Events, the same entertainment outfit that brought Martin Nievera to RWM.
With Beth Martin as musical director and arrangements by Naldy Gonzales of Side A and Moy Ortiz of the The CompanY, the show will bring power-packed renditions of some of the best of popular music during the past three decades, most notably the original works popularized by Side A and The CompanY.
Side A is made up of Joey Generoso, Kelly Badon, Joey Benin, Lee Von Cailao and Ned Esguerra. Formed in the late ’80s, the band rose to prominence during the ’90s to become the country’s leading pop-rock band. It is best known for its party music and the soulful vocals of Generoso. Among its biggest hits are Hold On, Tuloy Parin Ako, Aawitin Ko Na Lang, So Many Questions, Forevermore, By Your Side and others.
The CompanY is made up of Annie Quintos, Sweet Plantado, Cecile Bautista, Jay Marquez and Moy Ortiz. They started out as a backing group but cracked big time when Everlasting Love, the single from their debut album became a huge hit. This was followed by more big sellers, Now That I Have You, Pakisabi Na Lang, Muntik Na Kitang Minahal, Isang Taong Lumipas and others.
Side A and The CompanY have been responsible for countless sold out shows these past years. Being together at RWM means double the music and double the fun.
