MANILA, Philippines – It was a hectic weekend for Kapuso fans nationwide as GMA Network brought its Kapuso stars to the regions to grace various festivals.
In Iloilo City, the Kapuso Night celebration for the colorful Paraw Regatta was held at the Villa Beach.
Fifteen thousand people gathered to party with Mark Herras, Wendell Ramos and Nadine Samonte.
At Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, the stars of Dwarfina and Party Pilipinas joined forces to make the annual Tawo-Tawo Festival extra special.
Will Devaughn, Vaness del Moral, Angelika dela Cruz, and Mico Aytona participated in the Kapuso Street Dancing and Float Parade. The GMA Float which carried Dwarfina stars started to make its way from the Bayawan City Hall to the Integrated Business Center.
After the parade, all roads led back to Bayawan’s Integrated Center for the Kapuso Night.
The event also saw Iza Calzado, Rochelle Pangilinan and Maureen Larrazabal.
Meanwhile, in Bago City’s Charter Day celebration held at the Bago City Public Plaza, the cast of Machete took centerstage. Chariz Solomon had the crowd in stitches, while Ryza Cenon and Bela Padilla stunned the crowd and participated in the games.
When Aljur Abrenica appeared onstage, it was the ladies’ turn to scream. The excitement went a notch higher when Aljur took a lady from the audience and asked her to join him onstage.
Local Kapuso personalities John Arceo and Ana Maris Igpit hosted the show, while Adrian Bobe facilitated the games before the show.
Kabalikat Civicom Group estimated that a crowd 15,000 to 20,000 people made the Bago Kapuso Night a success.
Kapuso stars contingent flew to General Santos City for the Kalilangan Festival.
Mark Anthony Fernandez, Katrina Halili, Maureen Larrazabal and Will Devaughn graced the Kapuso Night held at the convention center of the KCC Mall of Gensan.
Mark and Katrina both came off from the rousing success of their respective teleserye Little Star and Beauty Queen, respectively. While Maureen is part of the longest-running comedy program Bubble Gang; and Will is in Dwarfina.
Prior to the show, the crowd estimated to be at 4,500 in attendance was treated to an episode marathon of Nita Negrita. They also readily participated in the games prepared for them and StarStruck alumnus Chuck Allie and Resci Rizada joined them.
It was a busy weekend for the Kapuso Regional Team said Jocelyn Bautista, program manager for ETV-Regional, “but all of these efforts are part of the network’s commitment of bringing superior entertainment to our Kapuso in the regions. Every smile and laugh that we hear, every applause that we receive, it’s enough reward for the hard work we put into mounting the shows.”
Apart from its participation in the festivals, mall shows featuring the various programs and shows of GMA Network and its personalities will unfurl in key cities and various points in the country.
