ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Thousands of loyal Kapamilya filled the Robinsons Place last Jan. 22 to watch the much-awaited Kapamilya Karavan of ABS-CBN Regional Network Group (RNG), featuring the best performances of its most promising and brightest stars who added glitter to the event.
The powerful voices of Star Power Final 5 K-la Rivera, Angeline Quinto, Monica Sacay, Krissel Valdez and Akiko Solon stunned the crowd. The warm welcome inspired the Star Power Final 5 to give the promo tour of the show’s upcoming finale on Feb. 20 all they’ve got.
Thunderous roars filled the air as Maricar Reyes of Imortal went onstage with the song titled Every Little Thing He Does is Magic. Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin star Coco Martin did a medley of teleserye theme songs and invited one female fan from the audience to go onstage. The crowd roared with laughter as Coco playfully teased her. He hugged her, looked into her eyes and held her hands as if his heart only belonged to her.
Ron Morales, on the other hand, also elicited shrieks when he threw the shirt he was wearing while crooning a love song. An overjoyed fan fell from his seat as he grabbed the shirt.
Screams of excitement followed when Bulong star Angelica Panganiban showed up and delighted Kapamilyas with her sense of humor and showmanship. Her effort to get closer to the crowd earned admiration from the audience.
Vhong Navarro’s energetic dance moves and body-shaking song-and-dance number sent the crowd to seventh heaven. Also Bulong star Vhong can’t describe the joy he felt because of the warm welcome he received from Ilonggo fans.
But what turned the Ledesma Carpark into a hotter venue was Ilonggos’ warm welcome to Gerald Anderson. Deafening shrieks filled the air as the Buhawi Jack star serenaded the crowd. Gerald got loud screams and applause from Ilonggo Kapamilya.
Parlor games gave every Kapamilya a chance to join the affair. Kapamilya Iloilo local talents Sedfrey Cabaluna (MagTV Na), Emil Maulas, Sam Sioson, Jolito Yap and Francis Casumpang (MOR 91.1 FM Iloilo), Charmaine Gail Nuñez (Sikat Ka Iloilo) and Shirin Khabbaz (MagTV na Amiga) took turns hosting and introducing fellow artists from the Star Network whose presence made the show memorable.
