MANILA, Philippines - The stars of ABS-CBN Star Magic’s Piolo Pascual, Bea Alonzo, Diether Ocampo, Kristine Hermosa, Sam Milby, KC Concepcion, Angelica Panganiban, Gabby Concepcion, and John Lloyd Cruz are expected to shine brighter in 2011.
2010 was a year not just of challenges but of personal achievements for Piolo. His Decades album was so successful that Star Records decided to release Decades II last December. His 2010 Heartthrobs and Friends Tour with Sam, John Lloyd, Bea Alonzo, Pokwang, Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu was a success. Piolo continues his duties as a spokesperson for Sun Life Financial’s It’s Time campaign andt recently launched his SunPiology Pursuits journal which features his personal collection as a photographer. Working with photographer Raymond Isaac, Piolo has released a coffee-table book now available in all Fully Booked stores.
This month, he will start his month-long birthday celebration on A.S.A.P. XV. He will be paired with Kim in a Star Cinema movie. He will stage his Valentine concert at the PICC with Yeng Constantino and Sitti as guests.
Piolo continues his training as a tri-athlete. He also remains to be the face for BDO, Belo, Clear, Bench, Smart, Timex, Speed Babad, Sky Travel bags, Century Properties, Century Bangus, Sun Life Financial, Jewelmer, Real Leaf, and NTT Phonecards.
Bea reunited with screen partner John Lloyd in Miss You Like Crazy and worked with Lorna Tolentino and Christopher de Leon in Star Cinema’s Sa’yo Lamang. Her biggest role to date was playing Gelai in Magkaribal. Another teleserye to watch out for is her team-up with Diether Ocampo and Robin Padilla.
Bea also graced the covers of Metro, Rouge and Cosmopolitan. Bea remains an endorser for Kashieca, Clear Shampoo, Belo Essentials, Belo Medical Group, Angel Evaporada and Kremdensada, Pacific Blue Shades and Watches, Colour Cosmetics and Aryan Contact Lenses.
Diether spearheads projects of his KIDS Foundation. His role as Hector in ABS-CBN’s Ruby with Angelica Panganiban was one of the most talked-about characters on TV. Diether also starred in the comedy flick Mamarazzi with Eugene Domingo and Sa’yo Lamang with Bea, Lorna and Christopher. Diether returns to the silver screen with Kris Aquino in the MMFF entry Dalaw and another MMFF entry for the Indie Film division Slow Fade.
He is the endorser of Bench, Malayan Insurance, Pizza Hut, Converse, Time Depot, and Oakley.
Kristine plays Eva, a fairy in Noah with Piolo Pascual and Zaijian Jaranilla. StarStudio’s December issue where she and her husband to-be Oyo Sotto is selling like hotcakes. The Metro Weddings cover girl will soon be seen either in a movie or a teleserye. Kristine endorses Chic Nails, CMX Cosmetics, Maxipeel and Cinderella.
Sam made two movies, Babe, I Love You and a Cinema One Original Films indie film titled Third World Happy. He also played lead roles in Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Impostor opposite Maja Salvador and Idol with Sarah Geronimo.
Towards the last quarter of 2010, Sam joined Piolo, John Lloyd, Bea, Pokwang, Gerald and Kim for the 2010 Hearthrobs and Friends Tour in Europe. A Star Cinema movie is lined up for Sam this year.

KC Concepcion proved she can make her own name. She had her own talk show titled Simply KC and now hosts Star Circle Quest for the Next Kiddie Superstar and The Buzz. After her movie I’ll Be There with dad Gabby Concepcion, she will start shooting a movie with Sam under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina. She will be the featured artist on Channel V in February.
She had a US tour with Matteo Guidicelli and Derek Ramsay last November. If schedule permits, KC will join her co-Star Magic artists for a series of Star Magic tours. She is the United Nations World Food Program ambassadress. She recently visited Iligan City and hopefully Africa for another feeding program. Unknown to many, KC has a tie-up project with UN called KC’s Closet where she sells her old clothes and bags. All proceeds will be donated to United Nations. KC endorses Real Leaf, Bayo, Palmolive, Close-up and Sony Cyber Shot.
Angelica was blessed in 2010 and reinvented herself as a comedienne. She won her first Best Actress Award in Star Awards for Here Comes The Bride. Her portrayal of a bida-kontrabida in the local remake of telenovela Rubi established Angelica’s versatility as an actress. Her heartwarming reunion with her father proved to be the best gift Angelica has received before the year ended. Her new soap with Gretchen Barretto will begin soon. Angelica is still the face of Mario D’Boro, The Bar, Swatch, Globe/TM, Amira Whitening Cream, Bench and Freshlook.
Gabby did out-of-the-country shows, including One Kapamilya Go in Tokyo with Sam, Gerald and Cacai Bautista, followed by Teleserye Royals in Reno, Nevada, with Gerald, Kim Chiu, Coco Martin, Maja, Yeng, Maricar Reyes and Chokoleit. Gabby also continues to serenade fans with his album titled Unforgettable. Gabby’s endorsements are Aqua best, I/M, RRJ and a Lucida-DS. Gabby did a movie, I’ll Be There, with daughter KC, and White House, a Regal horror film.
John Lloyd’s starrers Miss You Like Crazy with Bea and My Amnesia Girl with Toni Gonzaga were blockbusters. His current teleserye Imortal with Angel Locsin is also proving to be a big hit. Their 2010 Heartthrobs and Friends Tour in Europe with Sam, Piolo, Bea, Pokwang, Gerald and Kim was a huge success. John Lloyd got the Makabata Award in the recent Anak TV Awards.
