MANILA, Philippines - Folkloric tales that are supernatural in nature comes to Manila in a form of a dance-theater production on Dec.15, when graduating students of the Arts Management program and Performing Arts program of De La Salle - College of St. Benilde, stage Hutik, an Ilonggo term meaning “whisper”.
Taking tales from Antique and Iloilo, these were combined to create a unique and one of a kind story in the form of contemporary dance. The story is written by Tim Cabrera, Dana Labitoria and Janine Aristola, students of the Performing Arts program, major in Dance, and also performers of Ballet Philippines. It is through their creative minds that the choreography and story was created. The characters will be danced and portrayed by dancers from Ballet Philippines under Christine Crame, chair of the Performing Arts program of De La Salle - College of St. Benilde.
The production will run from Dec. 15 to 17, 1 and 7 p.m. at School of Design and Arts Theatre.
