MANILA, Philippines - Universal Pictures presents another hit supernatural thriller with M. Night Shyamalan’s (The Sixth Sense, Signs) signature touch, Devil.
In these fast-paced times, when people are always on the go, things happen that are totally unexpected and sometimes, completely strange and horrifying.
Imagine yourself rushing to an appointment in a high-rise building. Suddenly, the elevator stops and you are trapped along with other people. All of you in that elevator begin to get nervous and uncertain how long it will take to get that elevator moving again. But for reasons unknown, maintenance people could not get that elevator to move and you are told it may take a lot of time for them to do so.
This is what happens in the film, as a group of people is trapped in the elevator, and mysteriously one person dies after another. The trapped people slowly realize that one of those in the elevator is the devil himself.
Directed by John Erick Dowdle (Quarantine, The Poughkeepsie Tapes) from a screenplay by Brian Nelson (Hard Candy, 30 Days of Night) and a story by Shyamalan, Devil stars Chris Messina (Julie & Julia), Logan Marshall-Green (Brooklyn’s Finest), Geoffrey Arend (500 Days of Summer), Bojana Novakovic (Drag Me to Hell), Jenny O’Hara (Mystic River), Bokeem Woodbine (The Last Sentinel) and Jacob Vargas (Death Race).
Devil is distributed by United International Pictures through Solar Entertainment Corporation. It will open Sept. 22 in theaters.
