MANILA, Philippines - Julian “Julz” Savard, Roberto Martin “Robin” Nievera and Ton Vergel de Dios were announced the winners of the MYX VJ Search 2010.

Robin, son of Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez, was declared one of the three new VJs in the MYX VJ Search 2010 Finals held last July 21 at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia. The event was hosted by MYX VJ Iya Villania, Nikki Gil, Robi Domingo, Chino Lui Pio, Nel Gomez, Janine Ramirez and Bianca Roque. There were also performances from Tanya Markova, Sponge Cola, Pilipinas Got Talent finalist Markki Stroem and the 12 MYX VJ Search finalists themselves.

A student of Music Production at De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, Robin said, “To my supporters, thank you so much, my family, I love you guys. I really enjoy doing the music scene, if I do make it or not, I’m still gonna try to make more music.”

Ton, a Communication student from Ateneo, just wants to savor the moment. “This is something I really want and now that I’m officially part of it, I’m just so thankful and excited.”

And for Julz, a 19-year-old creative writing student, also from Ateneo, said, “I’m really so happy! I want to thank the people who voted for me, my family, my friends who supported me all the way, and MYX, of course.”

The new VJs were awarded with Beats by Dr. Dre’ headphones; shopping spree at SM SCubed accessories; gift certificates from Folded and Hung and Jellybean and a six-month contract with MYX.

MYX VJ Search 2010 sponsors gave away prizes to special awardees Mana Manalaysay (Garnier Fresh Face of the Night) and Kirsten Rice (Charmee Girl of the Night). Ton’s rocker outfit made him a winner during the SM S3’s Stylista Challenge. MYX VJ female and male finalists were sponsored by Jellybean and Folded & Hung, respectively. Cushe was official footwear sponsor.

The MYX VJ Search 2010 finals will air today, 4 p.m. on MYX Channel.
