MANILA, Philippines - The Pangarap ng Pilipino Movement (PPM), the movers behind the successful Ituwid Natin series on EDSA 1 and 2, recently launched another advocacy program with the initial staging of Ang Pilipinas Ngayon, a factual assessment of the country’s progress that will “make the Filipino proud.”
Ang Pilipinas Ngayon, which will be aired during commercial gaps of TV Patrol and Umagang Kay Ganda, ANC, Studio 23 and The Filipino Channel, will be hosted by Precious Lara Quigaman and Caritas executive director Fr. Anton Pascual.
Regular airing of the APN episodes starts on Tuesday.
The program is presented by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Petron, San Miguel Corp., United Coconut Planters Bank, North Luzon Expressway, Maharlika Shipping, Philtranco, Pacific Pearl Airways, Stradcom and Strategic Alliance Holdings, Inc.
Ang Pilipinas Ngayon will take viewers on a comprehensive and archipelago-wide assessment of gains made in transportation and communication infrastructure, energy, water that has interconnected the country’s 7,100 islands.
It will also focus on how the gap between the rich and the poor has been lessened with the fortification of education and health programs and the record-breaking housing and land ownership benefits.
There will also be a segment on how the common folk has found ways to access micro-finance, thereby, creating more economic opportunities for them.
Also to be discussed are the developments made in the tourism, agricultural and industrial sectors which have grown by leaps and bounds through the years.
There will also be a special segment on the environment.
