Show business welcomes new talents Bianca Roque, K-la, Bonjovi Osorio, Richard Reyes and Neil Fereira. They are all set and ready to fulfill a lifelong dream of making it big in the entertainment industry. And all of them are willing to do whatever it takes. Here they are:
“Being a host is something that I really love doing. It’s fun. It’s an art: Being able to express yourself in so many ways just by talking and making people laugh,” says Bianca. “Everything about being a VJ is fun, too in a way that you get to know what’s behind the camera, how different rockers really are, for example, once they’re off cam. My goal really is to establish myself as a really good host without compromising myself.”
Bianca, 24, does Changga yoga on her free time to maintain her body beautiful. Her taste in music is as diverse as listening from mellow sounds to rock and electronica. She looks up to KC Montero as a host. She loves to sing in the bathroom and videoke joint although she thinks she doesn’t have the voice for it.
“I’ve been singing since I was three,” shares K-la. “I love entertaining people, being the center of attention. I love expressing myself through lyrics and movements. I used to play the piano. Recently, I started teaching myself guitar.”
Born and raised in Canada, K-la was discovered through the David Foster Star Search. She was chosen as one of the winners on the show back in September 2007. She has been touring Canada, including Las Vegas.
“Being an actor is a personal thing for me,” reveals Bonjovi. “I had this uncle who was like a brother to me. We used to play basketball and then one day, during my freshman year in high school, he just told me, ‘Maybe you should pursue acting.’ He passed away in 2007.”
Bonjovi grew up in the US, having moved there when he was only seven. He came back to the Philippines right after his uncle’s death in 2007. He’s been living here by himself ever since.
Before he left for the Philippines, he was taking up biological sciences at the University of California. He’s currently taking up BS Psychology at a prestigious university here. By the way, this one-time high school jock plays the violin from time to time.
And oh, did I mention he is a “confidential agent” by profession?
So what is he doing in show business anyway?
“I want to be an action star,” spills Neil. “I see myself doing action scenes and shooting guns. There’s good money there. I just want to do it.”
Neil is the son of the consul general of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Philippines, Edward Fereira. His mom is Visitacion Magtibay-Fereira, a Filipina. According to the 21-year-old, his dad has always wanted him to be an actor. Neil actually had done a few acting stints a few years ago for the GMA 7 teleserye, Now and Forever, starring Yasmien Kurdi.
“When I watch horror films and I see the actors looking scared and screaming, it arouses my interest.”
Richard says he is a fan of movies like Final Destination and Saw. He watched all the movie installments of both.
Richard, who hails from Laguna, once starred in a school play titled Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He has already done a few TVC appearances, one of which landed him the lead role. He is in fact one of the finalists at the reality TV show, StartStruck V, but didn’t make it to the top.
Now he is more determined than ever to enter the world of local TV and cinema.
Like Bonjovi, Richard idolizes John Lloyd. “He’s really a good actor,” says Richard. He finds Kris Aquino fascinating, on the other hand. “She’s very controversial which I think is one of the factors that makes her a good actress,” enthuses the young aspirant.
According to Richard, aside from acting, one of the reasons he wanted to join show business is to help out his family. His half-Scottish dad has been the sole provider of the family since Richard’s mom died two years ago. He has a brother who is an undergrad nursing student and a sister who is still in second year high school. “I’m sort of a breadwinner in the family too,” admits the young talent.
Richard says he can sing, dance, host and of course, act. He loves playing on-line games, does not smoke and drink and likes girls with beautiful eyes, sexy back and “really good curves.” Erich Gonzales tops his list of dream leading ladies.
