Kim Chiu is turning 20 on April 19 and she plans to celebrate her special day in a meaningful way.
Kim looks forward to spending her day before her birthday at Fabella Hospital to distribute diapers, infant formula, infant wear and vitamins to babies born in the government hospital. It is her way of sharing her blessings.
“It’s something that I really plan to do despite my hectic schedule. They (babies) have a soft spot in my heart and it’s disheartening to know that some of them are not given proper care. I read in a magazine that there were some who died due to lack of care and some are in incubators at dikit-dikit sila. Kawawa naman.”
Last year, she visited a charity institution for the aged. Are her acts of charity signs of maturity?
“Mature in a way that I am now more independent and serious in things that matter. These days I already know what I want to do — acting talaga at syempre I want to win an award.”
Kim doesn’t expect a birthday present from perennial screen partner Gerald Anderson anymore.
“The pink car he gave me is okey na and I bought an Hermes bag as a birthday gift to myself. Party? Except for the celebration in A.S.A.P. XV (April 18) and with Kimeralds (on April 22), I don’t think kaya pa ng sked.”
But have you ever wondered how Kim usually spends her day?
5:30 a.m. — I wake up early when I have tapings usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I take a bath or wash my face with soap and water, then I take breakfast.
6 a.m. — I leave the house for tapings that last until the following day.
9 or 10 a.m. — That’s the time I wake up naman Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. My wake-up time depends on my schedule. Whole day kasi minsan shooting or pictorial.
Noon — Either lunch on the set or go to a presscon.
Mid-afternoon — If time permits, I go to the mall usually at Rockwell or Shangri-La at this time of the day kasi ’pag tanghali or office hours walang masyadong tao so shopping talaga ako. I go around the mall for best finds like shoes, dress, everything. It usually takes me five hours to shop.
6 p.m. — Go back to the house at Tivoli Royale (her new house at Loyola Grand Villas will be finished by November) to have dinner. Sometimes I eat with friends. I get myself ready if I have a commitment at night.
8 p.m. — Watch DVDs or primetime series on TV. I watch myself on TV to check my acting. I check on what I must improve on. I’m not techie so di ako ma-laptop during downtime.
11 p.m. — I go to bed at this time for me to at least get six hours of sleep so I can be super ready again the next day. — BOT GLORIOSO
