MANILA, Philippines - In a show which focuses on real and extraordinary talent, TV5’s Talentadong Pinoy Hall of Fame’s singer Leah Patricio will prove that she stands out above the rest as she belts out her best in tonight’s Talentadong Pinoy Battle of the Champions for the grand title of Philippines’ first Ultimate Talentado and a P1-M cash prize at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Exhibiting a common talent but possessing an extraordinary singing voice, Leah shows that she’s not just another singer. In her weekly performances to getting in the show’s Hall of Fame, Leah never failed to wow the jury and the talent scouts, with Audie Gemora saying she’s “definitely on her way to stardom with such extraordinary voice which people don’t get to hear everyday in any contest,” followed by a question in jest if Leah already has a manager.
Although she has won several contests in barangays, on TV, and in the February 2008 Amazing Philippine Singing Star, Leah remains humble. A housewife and full-time mom of two, Leah’s regular day consists of helping her mother in their sari-sari store and checking out every barangay for an upcoming singing contest.
It was Leah’s father who taught her to sing at an early age. She has performed for the President of Singapore and became fifth Hall of Famer of Talentadong Pinoy.
“Ayaw kong sumali noong una kasi sabi ko sa tatay, sa nanay, at sa asawa ko na baka hindi naman ako manalo. Wala kasi akong nakikitang singer na nananalo roon,” shares Leah. But she was encouraged by her family to join.
“Ang takbo ng buhay ko umiikot sa singing contests simula pagkabata, para may makain at pampa-aral. Di ako nakatapos, kaya ito na siguro ang oras para patunayan ko talaga sa sarili ko ang talent ko sa grand finals ng Talentadong Pinoy,” says Leah.
The jurors and the text-voting public will decide Leah’s fate of becoming the Philippines’ first Ultimate Talentado against The Far East Acrobatic Gutierrez Family, Wan Lu the Puppeteer, Joshua “The Yoyo Tricker,” The Tribal Dancers, Omar the Ladder Balancer, Ferdinand Clemente a.k.a. Makata-tawanan and young singer Jackielyn Pinaso, the wildcard finalist chosen recently after the month-long special comeback episodes.
