An 'infested' life

MANILA, Philippines - What would you do if you find yourself waking up nauseous, weak and covered in webbing, hanging from the ceiling of an office where, just minutes ago, you started your new job?

That’s just what Cooper (Chris Marquette, Race to Witch Mountain) found himself in, in the film Infestation.

He wakes up after legions of giant insects take over the world and humans are left helpless. Struggling out of his slimy prison, he comes face to face with his opponent — a grotesque, powerful and very angry bug.

Cooper wrestles with four-foot drug beetle hellbent on making him unconscious again.

Now, it’s his mission to help the insects’ slumbering victims. But where and how will he begin?

Cooper’s journey sees him befriending a ragtag group of survivors including the attractive, feisty Sara (Brooke Nevin, Smallville, Grey’s Anatomy).

The others are Hugo, a large man with the mind of a child (and hearing aids), Albert (Hugo’s gruff and tough father), Cindy (a TV reporter who defines herself by her looks), Leechee (a taciturn Asian and chemical engineering student), Roger (a juice delivery truck driver) and P.J. (a baseball-capped frat boy) and the young and nervous Cop.

The situation is unstable, and getting the group to agree on a plan is nearly impossible. Soon, Cooper and Sara find themselves trying to convince some of the survivors to do something to save themselves.

As hell breaks loose around them, Cooper can’t help trying to solve his dating problem while trying to save his life.

Will the survivors make it to safety before the enemy gets them one by one? What other surprises are in store for our group of unlikely heroes?

Find out in Infestation, an action survivor film with a heavy dose of comedy. It also boasts of special effects that make the sci-fi film more memorable. Written and directed by Kyle Rankin and also stars Ray Wise (Jeepers Creepers 2).
