Lota Delgado, who died early this year, may well be called ‘silent star .’ Throughout her life as actress, wife and mother, she opted to remain in the background, letting her husband, Rogelio dela Rosa, hog the limelight.
Lota and Rogelio appeared in several pictures before and after World War II, including Tarhata (1941, with Corazon Noble in the title role) and Irisan (1951, with Ben Rubio).
She was the woman behind Rogelio dela Rosa in his careers as top actor, producer, senator and diplomat (ambassador to The Hague, Cambodia and Sri Lanka).
