Ystilo keeps the music playing

MANILA, Philippines - Music and Video Performance, Inc. (MVP), collecting arm of the Philippine Music Public Performance Society, Inc. (PMPPSI), continues to make inroads in public performance licensing of sound recordings. The Ystilo chain of Salons recently signed contract with MVP, legitimizing the playback of sound recordings that belong to the PMPPSI. Representing Ystilo was Vina Morales, VP of the company. “There never was any doubt in my mind that we had to comply with Intellectual Property laws. I encourage other establishments to secure their public performance licenses, and to respect the rights of all those in the music industry,”she said.

Vina, Shiela Moreno and Federico “Fred” Moreno operate the high-end salon chain with 36 outlets in the country. The contract signing, led by MVP president Chito Ilacad, was held at Dulcinea along Tomas Morato last Oct. 28. Also present were members of the PMPPSI led by lawyer Marivic Benedicto, chairman of the society.
