MANILA, Philippines - Her hips don’t lie and now Shakira (photo) releases her latest album titled She Wolf. It marks the artist’s third English-language release which features works with the likes of artists/producers Pharrell, Wyclef Jean and The Neptunes.
She Wolf boasts the infectious and energizing sound that made Shakira a household name. She co-wrote and produced the album with John Hill (Santogold) and penned the quirky lyrics. The single saw a chart topping US debut with nearly a million singles sold, topping the iTunes singles chart and making it No. 1 on the hot single sales chart. The video for She Wolf has been sweeping the world, debuting at No. 1 on iTunes and MTV, remaining the No. 2 selling video on iTunes.
Shakira has had over 35 million YouTube views since the She Wolf video debuted at the end of July making it one of the biggest videos of the year.
Internationally, She Wolf has already proven to be a smash, nabbing a recent nomination for Best Video at the European MTV Video Awards and remains No. 1 in seven countries and Top 5 in 14 countries including the UK, Ireland, Mexico, Germany, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile.
Shakira has a string of chart-topping hits in both English and Spanish with sales of over 50 million records. Her last project, Oral Fixation Volumes 1&2, has sold in excess of eight million albums worldwide with the singles La Tortura and Hips Don’t Lie having earned over 10 million digital downloads.
