Michael Douglas in Beyond Reasonable Doubt

MANILA, Philippines - This month, Michael Douglas returns in Beyond A Reasonable Doubt, a new film noir-inspired suspense thriller.

Directed by Peter Hyams of Capricorn One, Outland and 2010 fame, the movie is a remake of the Fritz Lang 1956 RKO classic about an ambitious young journalist who investigates a corrupt district attorney named Mark Hunter believed to have successfully won a string of high-profile convictions by planting DNA evidence at crime scenes.

Douglas plays the corrupt DA Hunter, with support from Jesse Metcalfe who distinguished himself in the role of Eva Longoria’s gardener in Desperate Housewives as the young journalist CJ Nichols and Amber Tamblyn as the young assistant DA Ella Crystal, who becomes Nichols’ ally in proving his innocence in the face of her boss’ allegations. Nichols is forced to rely on Crystal to help save his career and his life.

Beyond A Reasonable Doubt is distributed locally by Viva International Pictures and set to premiere on Oct. 7 nationwide.
