Lauro Delgado 'in the title role'

Lauro Delgado, who usually played villain in Premiere and People‘s Pictures movies in the ‘50s and ‘60s, played the lead role in Sa Mata ng Diyos (1960). He was billed ‘and Lauro Delgado in the title role.’

The actor shared stellar billing with Tessie Quintana, Leonor Vergara, Carlos Padilla Jr. and child star Aida Villegas in Sa Mata ng Diyos, a heavy drama serialized over DZAQ, directed by Danilo H. Santiago, with story by Jose Miranda Cruz and script by Augusto Buenaventura.

Delgado‘s career spanned more than two decades, from the early ‘50s to the mid-‘70s, leading man and character roles, a tribute to his versatility.

His movies included Pusang Itim, Apat na Anino, Sta. Rita de Casia, Dream Girl, Manila: Open City, Luha sa Karimlan, Sexy Atsay, Ana Victoria, Ang Lihim ni Rosa Henson sa Buhay ni Kumander Lawin. —RKC
